Injuries & Conditions That May Require Orthopaedic Surgery

Pain or stiffness in the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder can significantly impact your daily activities. Our Clear Lake, Texas orthopaedic hand, wrist, and elbow surgeons provide expert care for fractures, arthritis, ligament and tendon injuries, and nerve compression.

Depending on your injury or condition, treatment can involve non-surgical therapies or advanced orthopaedic procedures such as decompression, to relieve pain, restore mobility, and improve function.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Nerve compression in the wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome) or elbow (cubital tunnel syndrome) can cause numbness, tingling, and weakness, making simple tasks difficult. Our team provides specialized care, offering non-invasive treatments like bracing, therapy, and injections. When necessary, surgical decompression procedures help release nerve pressure, restoring hand and wrist function for long-term relief.

Trigger Finger

Trigger finger occurs when inflamed tendons cause stiffness, clicking, or a locked finger or thumb. This condition can make gripping and fine motor movements challenging. We offer effective solutions, including splinting, anti-inflammatory treatments, and, when needed, a quick, minimally invasive procedure to release the affected tendon and restore smooth movement.

Dislocations

A dislocated shoulder, elbow, or finger can lead to severe pain and long-term instability if not properly treated. Dr. David R. Sollaccio, our orthopaedic surgeon in Clear Lake, Texas, provides precise repositioning and stabilization to promote proper healing. For recurrent dislocations, we offer advanced surgical procedures to restore joint integrity, improve stability, and reduce the risk of future injuries.

Golfer’s Elbow & Tennis Elbow

Repetitive strain from sports or work-related activities can lead to painful inflammation in the elbow. Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis) cause discomfort with gripping, lifting, and arm movement. We offer targeted treatments, including therapy, bracing, and injections. For chronic cases, minimally invasive procedures help repair damaged tendons and restore function.

Bone Fractures

A fracture, or broken bone, in the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder can make even the simplest movements painful. We specialize in both non-surgical and surgical fracture care, ensuring proper alignment and stabilization for optimal healing. Depending on the severity, treatment may involve casting, splinting, or surgical fixation with plates, screws, or pins to restore strength and mobility.

Torn Ligaments & Tendons

A torn or damaged ligament or torn or damaged tendon can result in pain, weakness, and limited motion. Whether due to sports injuries, accidents, or overuse, our specialists provide comprehensive care. Treatment may include bracing, physical therapy, or minimally invasive surgical procedures designed to restore joint stability and prevent further damage.

Arthritis

Joint pain and stiffness from arthritis can make daily tasks difficult, whether in the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder. We offer personalized treatment plans, including medication, injections, and therapy. For advanced cases, surgical options such as joint fusion or replacement can significantly reduce pain and restore function, helping patients regain mobility and independence.

Tendinitis Treatment & Surgery

Tendinitis develops when overuse or repetitive movements cause inflammation in the tendons, leading to stiffness and discomfort. Our team offers customized treatment plans, including therapy, bracing, and anti-inflammatory medications. If symptoms persist, minimally invasive surgical procedures can repair torn or damaged tendons, allowing for pain relief and improved movement.

Sports Injuries Rehabilitation, Treatment, & Surgery

Sports-related injuries can impact mobility and keep you from the activities you love. We provide orthopaedic hand, wrist, and elbow surgery solutions for fractures, ligament tears, and repetitive strain injuries. Treatment options include physical therapy, bracing, and surgical intervention when necessary to restore strength, flexibility, and function.

Shoulder Pain Treatment & Surgery

Shoulder pain can stem from arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, or tendon inflammation, making movement difficult. Our approach includes conservative treatments like therapy and injections, while advanced cases may require minimally invasive surgery to repair damage and restore full range of motion.

Golfer’s Elbow Treatment & Surgery

Golfer’s elbow, or medial epicondylitis, causes pain and tenderness on the inner side of the elbow due to overuse of the forearm muscles. Our team provides targeted treatments such as therapy, bracing, and anti-inflammatory care. When necessary, minimally invasive surgery can repair damaged tissue, improving long-term function.

Arthritis Treatment & Surgery

Arthritis in the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder can cause chronic pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. We offer customized care plans, including medications, injections, and therapy. For advanced cases, joint fusion or joint replacement surgery can help relieve pain and restore function.

Elbow Sprain Treatment & Surgery

Elbow sprains occur when the ligaments in the joint are overstretched or torn, leading to pain, swelling, and reduced strength. We provide personalized treatment, including bracing, therapy, and pain management. If the ligament is severely damaged, surgical repair may be required to restore stability and prevent long-term complications.

Tennis Elbow Treatment & Surgery

Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a common overuse injury that causes pain on the outer side of the elbow. We offer a range of treatments, from therapy and bracing to injections that reduce inflammation. For cases that don’t respond to conservative care, minimally invasive procedures can remove damaged tissue and restore tendon strength.

Bursitis Treatment & Surgery

Bursitis occurs when the small fluid-filled sacs (bursae) that cushion the joints become inflamed, leading to pain and stiffness. We provide treatment options such as rest, therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications. In severe or persistent cases, minimally invasive procedures may be recommended to relieve discomfort and restore joint movement.

Elbow Pain Treatment & Surgery

Elbow pain from arthritis, torn or damaged ligaments, or overuse injuries can make daily activities challenging. We tailor treatment plans to each patient, offering non-surgical solutions like therapy and bracing. When surgery is needed, our advanced techniques help relieve pain and restore strength while minimizing downtime.

Hand & Wrist Pain Treatment & Surgery

Hand and wrist pain can result from nerve compression, tendon injuries, or joint conditions. Our team provides non-invasive treatments such as splinting, therapy, and injections. For more severe cases, surgical options such as decompression procedures and joint repair can relieve pain and restore function.

What Patients Are Saying

Hear from real patients about their experiences with Dr. Sollaccio’s expert care and personalized treatment.

I recently had a very serious incident that shattered my right arm, and wrist (and other issues) which desperately needed surgery. I was referred to Dr. Sollaccio who saw me the same day and performed the surgery the following day! He did an awesome job as indicated by the fact that I am typing this message easily and pain free. And great bedside manor, very patient, I never felt rushed. It also didn’t hurt that when other doctors and nurses asked who did my surgery and I told them, it was almost a unanimous response, ‘Ohhh you got lucky, he’s good!’ Highly recommended.

T.L.

Dr. Sollaccio is incredible. When I got to him my injury was two days old, infection was setting in and acute compartment syndrome. Dr. S took one look, scheduled surgery for the same night and by the time I woke up from surgery all of my excruciating pain was gone. His energy is calming and comforting, he is patient and takes the time to explain details and answer all questions. He’s such a caring Dr and truly wants the best for his patients. Thank you Dr. Sollaccio for everything you’ve done for me!

Dr. Sollaccio has provided me with excellent care and follow-up from my surgery. By the way, you can barely see the sutures and it has only been 6 weeks post operation – it is as though a plastic surgeon did the surgery. Also, the surgery is very successful
